Trying to Explain American Politics to French People
Once every twenty years (now that France has the quinquennat), the French and American presidential elections coincide. There is no better opportunity to compare (and make fun of) the different systems and styles of campaigning, especially for the American students studying at Sciences Po this semester, and the 2A French students who will be spending 3A in the States. Le Projet Personnel ou la voie exceptionnelle trop rarement empruntée
Stage ou Université, Amérique ou Asie ? Ces questions, relatives à la troisième année « hors les murs » de Sciences Po, reviennent chaque année au cours du premier semestre. Dans quelques mois, les actuels Premières Année devront donc pour la plupart trancher entre une expérience professionnelle ou éducative. Il existe cependant une troisième alternative: le projet personnel. Si LaPéniche vous a précédemment proposé un Guide 3A, le projet personnel n’y figurait pas. Ce dernier est, en effet, très rare à Sciences Po, du fait notamment de sa très faible visibilité. Ainsi, l’année prochaine, seuls 8 étudiants mèneront un projet personnel. Comment…

LaPéniche inaugure aujourd’hui son partenariat avec Medinat Ashabaab, le journal étudiant du campus de Menton ! Vous pourrez régulièrement découvrir des articles écris par des plumes très diverses donnant un nouvel éclairage à l’actualité du monde arabe et vous faisant un peu mieux connaitre la vie mentonnaise. Premier échange avec cet article de Zineb Bercheq, étudiante du campus de Menton, qui analyse le rôle de Facebook dans les Révolutions arabes. La Grande Finale du Transatlantic Debate Championship
Jeudi 5 Novembre, l'amphi Boutmy affichait « sold out » – enfin, hors balcon – pour la finale du « Transatlantic Debating Championship ». Organisé par un unique étudiant en deuxième année au Campus de Poitier, Ian Sielecki (et non par notre association résidente), le Championnat fit venir la « crème de la crème » des jeunes débatteurs anglo-saxons à Sciences-Po pour deux jours endiablés de joutes oratoires. Des affiches de rêve: Yale versus Princeton, Cambridge contre Sciences Po ET Polytechnique, et enfin en finale, Sciences Po-Polytechnique contre Yale (Plus d'informations).
